Some of The Myths Encountered by Female Bodybuilders

More and more women are getting into bodybuilding and like men, they too, wish to get the strongest and shapliest looking bodies possible.Unfortunately, many women avoid bodybuilding because they’re afraid that they’ll start looking manlier. These women are largely the victims ofmyths out there of the effects of bodybuilding on the female body and the following are some of the typical ones that abound aboutfemale bodybuilding.

I will end up looking like a man.

Bodybuilding does develop muscle, but it will not make you more masculine. Men produce lots more testosterone than women do, which is the chemical that lets men bulk up and accountsfor the anatomical differences between men and women. Women will only get the same bulk of muscles as menif they intentionally take testosterone supplements, so if you don’t take them, you’ve got nothing to worry about and I strongly advise against doing so. Doing weight training doesn’t, in any way, turn women into men it simplytones and sculpts what is already there and turns the female body into the best possible shape.

It will make me stiff and unsupple.

Many believe that weight training will cause their body to stiffen and turn them into become muscle-bound gorillas. This is total nonsense asbodybuilding will actually do the opposite and will give youmuch more flexibility and ease of movement than you would other wise have.

I will increase my breast size.

This is one of those myths that a lot of women often hope is true, but sadly, is not. Just as formen, female bodybuilding helps take off the fat from the body while replacing it withmuscle, so in fact it may well end up reducing the breast size as breasts are largely made up of fatty tissue. If you want to avoid this, you should ensure that you follow aspecific bodybuilding regime tailored to the female form. If you follow a proper routine you will not have to worryabout losing breast mass if you do not wish to.

There are other myths too but you should not be put off if you are a female considering bodybuilding, especially bymen who are too lazy to do something about their own body shape. Always seek professional advice and take it slowly until you gradually achieve the look you want. You will be amazed at how much stronger and confident it makes you feel.
