What is the Finis SwimSense Performance Monitor?
The Finis SwimSense Performance Monitor is a simple to use, full-package lap counter .It straps to your wrist, just like a watch, and uses patent-pending algorithms, accelerometers, and magnetometers to calculate and identify your swim. Already you can tell that this swim monitor is technologically head and shoulders above other basic swim watches. It helps you keep track of your training like never before, which allows you to continually improve your stroke and lap times.
What can the swimming computer do?
A better question would be what this device can’t do! The performance Monitor features so many functions and modes that it can do virtually everything you need it to do at the pool. It analyzes and tracks pace times, distance, stroke count, stroke rate, distance-per-stroke, and calories burned. Its iiM (Interval Interference Mode) allows you to simply hit the swim button and go! This technology identifies intervals and strokes with ease. And the watch’s large, yet streamline, face allows you to view and analyze your swim workouts instantly. Finis also included setting options that allow you to set unique pool sizes, meters, yards, gender and weight. All of these functions combine to make the SwimSense Performance Monitor a great choice no matter where or how you swim.
What all does the Finis package include?
The full Performance Monitor package features the SwimSense wrist monitor, a SwimSense Dock, USB Connection Cord, a Quick-Start Guide and Instructional Booklet. It’s compatible with both PC and MAC computers and requires no downloads to work. The monitor runs on a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery. It can run for up to 12 hours during swims, stays practical for up to 150 hours of non-swimming use, and can go for 300 hours in sleep mode. The SwimSense dock not only helps you upload data, but also acts as the battery’s charger.
What makes the SwimSense stand out from other training computers?
The biggest thing that allows the Finis Performance Monitor to stand out from the bunch is its ability to download information onto your home computer. Because of this, you are better able to track sessions over the course of a week, month, or even a year. The Finis SwimSense Training Log can help you pinpoint your stroke’s weaknesses and see your progression over time. It provides swimmers with a visual dashboard, which shows a snapshot of your workout that can be broken down into individual details. The monitor seamlessly integrates with fitness-based partner websites such as MyFitnessPak, TrainingPeaks, RunKeeper, SportTrack, and 2PEAK. In addition to uploading your personal lap data, the watch can also be updated with firmware provided by Finis in order to continually improve and update the device.
